Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and his accompanying delegation went to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to make official contacts.

 

Minister Tekin first met with Ambassador of Türkiye to TRNC Metin Feyzioğlu. 

 

Meeting with Parliamentary Speaker of TRNC Zorlu Töre Minister Tekin stated that they accepted the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a second homeland and reminded that this year is the centenary of the Republic of Türkiye. Explaining that they are trying to explain to children the importance of the republic established after the War of Independence and to give them the consciousness of protecting their flag and the state, Tekin said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan put forward another vision and that the Century of Türkiye will be built in the next century. Noting that they act with this responsibility, Minister Tekin stated that the TRNC is not singled out in the Ministry's work. Minister underlined that they strive to ensure that children in TRNC benefit from the same opportunities that children in Türkiye benefit from. 

 

Minister Yusuf Tekin stressed that they will evaluate what can be done to take the cooperation between the two countries one step further during the contacts they will hold during the day. 

 

Expressing that they were honored to host Minister Tekin and his delegation in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Parliamentary Speaker Töre said that The Ministry of National Education in Türkiye made great contributions to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Underlining that they share a common national cause, Töre stated that their essence is the nation and their subject is their national cause. Parliamentary Speaker Töre noted that the Turkish youth in Cyprus must be raised with national and moral values in order to have a solid future assurance.

 

Stating that the Turkish National Anthem and the Turkish flag is also their own anthem and flag, He emphasized that the Turkish flag and the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are included both in the constitution and in the hearts. Underlining that President Erdoğan proved that the world is bigger than five, Töre expressed that TRNC is also happy that Türkiye is leading the world regarding these matters. 

 

Stating that they will continue to walk with the motherland, Töre wished Minister Tekin success in his contacts. 

 

During the meetings, Minister Tekin was accompanied by Deputy Minister Nazif Yılmaz, Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations Tuba Korkmaz, Director General of Support Services Ömür Karakullukçu, Director General of Personnel Bülent Çiftçi and Director General of Religious Education Ahmet İşleyen.
