MINISTER TEKİN MEETS WITH TEACHERS IN KASTAMONU

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin met with teachers at the program held in Kastamonu as part of "Teachers' Room Meetings".

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin said at the meeting held at Kastamonu Martyr Mehmet Yılmaz Imam Hatip Secondary School that they aimed to institutionalize the culture of consultation thanks to the Teachers' Room Meetings they regularly hold every month.

Reminding that they have implemented many practices in line with the opinions and suggestions in these consultations, Tekin noted that they will continue to listen to the teachers, who are the main voice of the field, in every issue needed regarding the education and training processes. The Minister stressed that they will not address those who break rudely in a conversation.

Reminding that they organized provincial education evaluation meetings in every province they visited during their field visits, Minister Tekin stated that they took the necessary measures on the necessary issues as a result of their consultation with the authorized bodies of the province.

Touching on the issue of interviews, Minister Tekin stated that it is a legal obligation to conduct an interview according to the legislation currently in force. Noting that some circles use teacher candidates as political material with populist discourses, Minister Tekin advised that teacher candidates should not give incentives to these circles.

In response to a question about the field change, Tekin said that they do not find the field change correct in principle, but that they are working on a formula that will not violate anyone's rights in this regard.

Stating that they will make every effort to further improve the personnel rights of teachers, Tekin announced that they will try to fulfill the demands and expectations of teachers, as they did in the previous Teachers' Room Meetings.

Teachers who attended the meeting spoke one by one and conveyed their opinions, suggestions and expectations in the field of education. Emphasizing that these meetings were an indication of the value given to them, they wished for this practice to continue.
