MINISTER TEKIN ATTENDS THE PROVINCIAL EDUCATION EVALUATION MEETING IN TEKİRDAĞ

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin attended the provincial education evaluation meeting as part of his programs in Tekirdağ.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin attended the provincial education evaluation meeting held at Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Cultural Center after his visit the Governorship of Tekirdağ.
 
Stating that he has visited more than half of the provinces in Türkiye since he took the Ministerial office 4 months ago and held evaluation meetings in each province they visited, Minister Tekin noted that they continued their investments in education in line with the decisions they made based on the results.
 
Emphasizing that the national education community is a large organization, Tekin said that they currently have nearly 20 million students, 1 million teachers and over 76 thousand institutions in Türkiye. Expressing that a quick decision was made regarding the internal management of this organization, Tekin said that they are going through a process where decisions need to be made and frequently revised. Tekin stressed that they are in constant contact with provincial organizations in order to manage the process.

Stating that there were 367 thousand 145 classrooms in Türkiye in 2002, Minister Tekin noted that the classroom stock has increased 2 and a half times in the last twenty years and there are 742 thousand 323 classrooms throughout Türkiye. Stating that the same indicators are valid for teachers, Minister Tekin emphasized that the investments made in education in the last twenty years have reached remarkable levels.
 
Stating that education is a dynamic process and demands and expectations are constantly renewed, Tekin noted that they constantly revise themselves according to the changing conditions.
 
Referring to the importance that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attaches to education, Tekin pointed out that no sacrifice is spared in education.
 
Explaining that they encountered some problems in Türkiye, especially because the buildings built before 2000 were not built in accordance with the earthquake legislation, Tekin underlined that as the Ministry, they have carried out almost all of the building stock regarding earthquakes. Mentioning that they have retrofitted 3 thousand 632 schools and rebuilt 1 thousand 583 schools in Türkiye, Minister Tekin stated that they have strengthened 118 schools and rebuilt 48 demolished schools out of 64 schools in Tekirdağ.
