Minister Avcı attends graduation ceremonies at Navy and Air Force War Schools

Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Parliament Speaker İsmet Yılmaz, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Chief of Staff General Hulusi Akar attended the graduation ceremonies of the Navy and Air Force War Schools and presented diplomas to graduates.

Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Parliament Speaker İsmet Yılmaz, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Chief of Staff General Hulusi Akar attended the graduation and regimental banner handing over ceremonies of the Navy and Air Force War Schools.

The ceremony at the Navy War School Command Headquarters in Tuzla started with the regimental banner arriving at the ceremony area and the arrival of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan saluted the students saying “merhaba, Navy War School. Bless your new ranks.”

After a one minute silence and the playing of the national anthem the Navy War School Commander Rear Admiral Mesut Özel made the introductory speech. Navy Lieutenant Hasan Salim Kanmaz spoke on behalf of the 242nd term graduates and the cadets left a memorial to sea to mark the occasion.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the diploma of Lieutenant Kanmaz weho was first in his grade. Parliament Speaker İsmet Yılmaz presented the diploma of second top student Navy Lieutenant Engin Tekin and Yusuf Temur who was third received his diploma from Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu. Other students received their diplomas from  members of the protocol including Minister of National education Nabi Avcı.

The 1965 graduates of thre Navy War School including former Navy Commander retired Admiral Metin Ataç also gave the diplomas of the graduates. 

Besides the 213 Turkish officers who graduated from the school this year four officers from Azerbaijan, 3 from Kazakhstan, 2 from Turkmenistan and one from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus graduated. The ceremony ended with the handing over of the regimental banner to the 243 term students and the march by of the graduates. Naval helicopters and sea ships also flew over the ceremony area.

  

Students of the 61st term graduate from the Air Force War School  

The diploma ceremony and the regimental banner handing over ceremony of the 61st term at the Air Force War School was held at the Air Force War School headquarters in the Yeşilköy district of İstanbul.

The ceremony started when the Regiment of the Air Force War School entered the procession area accompanied by the singing of the 10th Year March. President Erdoğan was welcomed by Air Force Commander General Abidin Ünal and Air Force War School Commander Major General Fethi Alpay. The president viewed the guard of honor while the school commander presented Erdoğan with the badge of the Air Force War School.

The ceremony started with the president taking his place in the stands. President Erdoğan greeted the students from the stand by declaring “merhaba Air Force War School” and the students chanted “you are welcome.” Erdoğan later said he wishes blessings for their new ranks of lieutenant.

The ceremony started with a one minute silence and the playing of the national anthem. 

Air Force War School Commander Major General Fethi Alpay speaking at the ceremony said the air and space power has become the greatest deterrent force; it is the most important element in speedy and effective intervention in crisis areas and can single handily be the decider in a conflict situation. After the protocol speeches term top student Air Lieutenant Ali Yıldırım attached aircraft model to the wooden registry to symbolize the 61th term 2015 graduates.

Later the diplomas and presents were given to the graduates. President Erdoğan presented the diploma to the top student of the 61st term Air Lieutenant Yıldırım. Parliament Speaker Yılmaz presented the diploma of the top second student Air Lieutenant Emre Koçyiğit while Prime Minister Davutoğlu presented the diplomas of the third top student. Chief of Staff  General Akar presented the diploma of the fourth top student Air Lieutenant Kaya Ermağan.

Lieutenant Eren Sırıklı who was among the top students received his diploma from Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı. Other members of the protocol including force commanders also presented diplomas.

The diplomas of the foreign graduates were also presented at the ceremony. Former Air Force retired General Faruk Cömert led the 1965 graduates of the Air Force War School presenting diplomas to the students. After the regimental banner handover ceremony Air Force War School Commander Major General Alpay presented the diplomas to the banner bearers.

 

F-16 and F-4 jet fighters also performed in the skies during the ceremony. The young lieutenants sang the War School March and then marched out of the ceremony area. The Air Force SOLOTÜRK team performed a fly past as the graduates crossed their swords to end the ceremony.
